7 Food That Lead To The Breakout Of Acne

The Different Type of Facial

Breakouts of acne are quite common after we consume certain foods, and the sad part is, we don’t even realize what caused the acne in the first place. No one loves acne breakouts on their face. They look ugly and certainly are annoying.

Before we find out which foods cause acne, let’s have a look at what is acne. Acne occurs when our body secretes too much oil. The reasons for this vary; irregular menstrual cycle, hormonal changes, hot weather, and at times, oil-based makeup. Acne, if not treated at the beginning, can leave zit marks on the face. So, avoid the foods we are going to look at now, or at the very least, limit your intake of these food items.

1. Dairy Products

Despite being a healthy choice, consuming too much milk can produce insulin in our bodies, especially since it’s an insulinogenic. Apart from this, milk can make the hormones in our body dense, and hormones are the leading cause of acne. However, do not leave out drinking milk from your diet entirely, just limit its use.

2. Bread

Bread contains gluten and gluten is not only bad for the small intestines, but even inflames the body. Consuming too much bread can deplete the antioxidants in the body. So, if possible, replace bread with a healthier alternative for your daily intake, or reduce its consumption.

3. Spinach

Spinach clears the skin and is a healthy staple in your diet. But, too much of spinach can lead to a breakout of acne since spinach is rich in iodine.

4. Fried food

Fried foods can worsen the acne on your face. Try limiting the amount of deep-fried foods you consume as it will make your skin oily, and an excess of oil will eventually lead to the breakout of acne.

5. Alcohol

Foods that contain traces of alcohol in it can trigger the breakout of acne and make the skin look unhealthy. This happens because of the imbalance of testosterone and estrogen in the body. Drinking too much alcohol can cause zinc deficiency which is not ideal as zinc is the main fighter of acne.

6. Caffeine

Caffeine is something that many people can’t do without first thing in the morning. But, did you know that caffeine causes acne and makes it spread it all over the face as well? Avoid ingesting too much coffee, tea, or chocolates.

8. Spicy food

Spicy foods are a big no as they are not a healthy choice. Spicy foods inflame the digestive tracks and foods that are extremely spicy tend to cause acne breakouts.

In order to avoid acne breakout, try to limit the intake of the foods mentioned above. And if the breakout has already occurred, try acne facials on a regular basis as that will reduce the acne marks on your face eventually with time.
